In season 3 of the anime Hachiman, Yukino, and Yui realize the superficial nature of the club and the relationships around them. They confront their real feelings and thoughts about each other and the people around them as they reach the end of high school.

Yukino opens up about her dreams and tells Hachiman and Yui that she wants to create her own path in life instead of following the one carved by her parents. She wants to become an independent person.

Yui acknowledges Yukino’s feelings towards Hachiman and her own sentiments, however, she cannot come to terms with herself and cannot express her feelings.

Hachiman and Yukino make a promotional video for the school prom which gets very popular. However, there are people who oppose the prom. The trio takes care of the problem as a team, but Yukino is still having trouble relying on people because she fears she may not be independent if she did so.

After the prom is confirmed, Yui meets Yukino and is finally honest about her feelings. Hachiman also realizes that he cannot refuse to help people when he is needed. After a talk with his teacher, he comes to the conclusion that his friendship with the girls is a sham because there’s no honest communication.

Hachiman talks to both Yui and Yukino and tries to express his true feelings. After the preparation for prom, Yukino surprises Hachiman with a confession.

The third season had 12 episodes in total and it was as amazing as the first two seasons.
