Full Dive Season 2 Release Date | Everything We Know So Far

The first seasons of the Full Dive anime series ran from April to June 2021 and it ran for 12 episodes. Since then fans have eagerly been waiting for Full Dive Season 2. Here’s everything we know about season 2 of Full Dive So Far.

Full Dive, also known as Kyuukyoku Shinka Shita Full Dive RPG ga Genjitsu Yori mo Kusoge Dattara is an action fantasy comedy anime series that wrapped the first story arc of the light novels in 2021.

The Japanese anime is based on the Light novel series of the same name written by Light Tuchihi. Four volumes of the novels have been published by Media Factory.

ENGI Animation aired the anime adaptation from April to June 2021 with 12 episodes. Since then fans have been craving for more as they want to see what happened next in the life of Hiroshi Yuki.

Will There Be Full Dive Season 2? Canceled or Renewed

Will There Be Full Dive Season 2 Canceled or Renewed

As of 2023, there is no confirmation from ENGI Animations about Full Dive season 2. There is no news about its production or confirmation from the producers and animators.

However, as season 1 of the series ended in 2021, there is still a lot of time left. Sometimes, it takes years before a sequel of the show is greenlit.

Looking at the light novel series and material available, chances of Full Dive Season 2 are highly likely.

Both Light novels and seinen manga are ongoing which means there is plenty of source material that could be translated into anime.

Unfortunately, till now there is nothing confirmed about season 2 of Full Dive. It has not been canceled or renewed by the producers.

Nonetheless, fans are still waiting for season 2 of the anime series and want to continue the story of Hiroshi’s life.

There are plenty of anime like All Out Season 2, New Game Season 3, and others that are still awaiting a renewal.

Full Dive Season 2 Release Date

Full Dive Season 2 Release Date

As of today, Studio ENGI or Kadokawa has not officially confirmed the Full Dive season 2 release date. Nor the production of the next season of Full Dive has been confirmed or announced.

In the meantime, we can only speculate about when, or if Full Dive: The Ultimate Next-Gen Full Dive RPG Is Even S**ttier than Real Life! will occur in the future or not.

One hurdle in the second season of Full Dive is the reviews. The show has received somewhat lower-than-average reviews from critics and fans.

Some fans find Reona to be annoying, even though her character has a waifu appeal. It turns out that fans are not convinced about it.

Similarly, fans don’t understand the “full realism” of the game as many things portrayed in the anime are not correct.

Most find Hiroshi Yuki, the protagonist to be unrealistic because they don’t understand why someone would continue playing the game even after so much psychological torture. For some, the dark comedy doesn’t sit well.

Full Dive Source Material

Another thing holding Full Season 2 back is the source material. To this day there are 4 volumes of the light novel series. A single volume is not enough for a whole season.

The last episode of season 1 coincided with the last chapter of Volume 2. It means that 2 volumes are left that can be adapted to season 2. But, even then, the source material is an issue.

Anime production has seen an increase in the past few years after an increase in popularity and international demand. In May 2021, Kadokawa also announced that they will be creating at least 40 anime projects per year.

So, if Full Dive Season 2 has not been renewed yet, it is safe to assume that with such a busy production schedule, we will not be getting the new season any time soon if the show gets a green light.

Kyuukyoku Shinka shita Full Dive RPG ga Genjitsu Yori mo Kusoge Dattara or Full Dive: The Ultimate Next-Gen Full Dive RPG Is Even Shittier than Real Life! has an audience score of 6.48 on MyAnimeList

The show has below average ratings and some bad reviews from the audience. Despite the comedy, fans cannot stand the protagonist, some explaining him as “the most insufferable, whiny, unlikeable twerp in the anime.”

The anime has a rating of 6.4 on IMDB. Fans say not to believe the low-rated reviews, as the show is actually fantastic.

It’s a harem anime with great female characters and the main protagonist is not overpowered in any way as he faces many difficulties and the game or life is never easy for him. Fans are still waiting for season 2.

What is Full Dive About

Ten years ago, a game called Kiwame Quest entered the VRMMO market featuring ten sexdecillion and ultimate realism – with plenty of NCPs replicating all human senses and physical abilities.

However, with time, the game lost its touch because it was too realistic.

At present, a high school student Hiroshi Yuki immerses himself in the gaming world as a way to escape from reality. After looking for the latest version of his favorite game, Hiroshi visits a game shop where he meets Reona who convinces him to try Kiwame Quest.

Initially, when he tries the game, he cannot get enough of it due to its realism and the feeling that the game offers. He finds himself logging in every day. However, after a series of misfortunate events, he realizes that the game is worse than his already stressful life.

Will Hiroshi be able to complete all levels of the game?
